MUSICFEST 2013: it's back, it's bigger and it's better - but still just $40 (inc GST) entry for a single day ticket. And a two-day event ticket is just $60 (inc. GST).

Run over two days - Saturday 9 March and Sunday 10 March - of the labour day long weekend, MUSICFEST 2013 will feature an exciting line-up of Australian performers, bands, songwriters and rootsy eclectic acts.

Also featured on the main stage will be some of Phillip Island's and Bass Coast's leading local musicians.

Heading the MUSICFEST 2013 bill is 'earth-rock' sister act, the amazing STONEFIELD - four sisters, Amy, Hannah, Sarah, and Holly Findlay from Darraweit Guim. Young they may be, but they've played the prestigious Glastonbury Festival in the UK, at Pyramid Rock, and are now signed to Wunderkind/Warner records.

Check them out on this You Tube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0HzB8eD3ys

You can see and hear STONEFIELD up close at MUSICFEST, don't miss this chance... STONEFIELD is headed for the world.

Also heading the bill is the enduring and acclaimed songwriter and performer DAVID BRIDIE. Formerly frontman for iconic Australian bands Not Drowning, Waving and My Friend the Chocolate Cake, DAVID BRIDIE has been an indelible a part of the Australian rock music scene for two decades.

We're also pleased to announce that cruisy, rootsy MAT McHUGH and his band the SEPARATISTA SOUND SYSTEM will be lighting up the stage on Saturday evening.

Check out one of Mat's latest, "A Pocket Full of Shells": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlwXeLhsHmU

They'll be following the genre-busting amazing voice of NSW-based KIRA PURU and the BRUISE.

On Sunday, the country/bluegrass virtuosity of the DAVIDSON BROTHERS and BAND - Australia's bluegrass masters - will be firing from the main stage, as will soul/blues 'Black Arm Band' performer KUTCHA EDWARDS and his BAND. Also on the Sunday, O'Neill Surfboards ambassador, songwriter and simply beautiful vocalist, LAURA HILL will be performing.

AND MORE! (Wait for our next announcement...!)

MUSICFEST 2012 'went off'... 2013 will be bigger

MUSICFEST 2012 'went off'... 2013 will be bigger

Sunny skies, great music all day (and into the night), and 830 'festies' on the lawns kicking back to classy acoustic, blues and folk music - that was MUSICFEST 2012.

With the cruisy folk/country of Mike McClellan as the headline act (and still among the best guitar finger-pickers in the land), to the stylish, edgy acoustic folk of Lisa Miller, the tight classy harmonies of indie-pop trio, The Little Stevies, and finishing with a bush dance with Paradiddle, it was the perfect day.

Local performers Bern Carroll, Jacqui Sterling, Vampire Boogie and The Plovers (Kathy and Rob Gray) added a classy local touch and made the event 'Phillip Island's own'.

The community touch is going to be repeated at MUSICFEST 2013 with another strong line-up of local performers taking to the MUSICFEST stages, alongside leading visiting acts.

It makes MUSICFEST just a little unique, more than a little laid-back, and a lot of fun.

So, pack your picnic, and let's see you at MUSICFEST 2013.

Performance Times, Food and Beverages and Shuttle Bus service for MusicFest

MUSICFEST 2013 is planned to kick off from 1:30pm (approx) on the main stage, with a community stage operating in breaks between the larger acts (featuring local and up-and-coming acts during band changeovers).

Wine, our soon-to-be-introduced micro-brewery beer-label, food and soft-drinks will be available from the cellar door, plus food marquees. You are welcome to bring along a picnic lunch, chairs and rug to make a day of it.

Cleeland Bus lines will be operating a shuttle bus service to MUSICFEST and RETURN on both Saturday and Sunday. Buses will depart Cowes (on the hour), with pickups at Ventnor and Smith's Beach throughout the afternoon and evening.

Cost: $15 return ticket ($7.50 one way)

Cowes: Coles bus stop and RSL
Ventnor: Lyall Street and Grossard Point Road
Smith's Beach: Back Beach Road

Priority parking for ticket holders (below the Main Stage)
(Tickets available: call 5956 8465 or online: www.musicfestphillipisland.com.au)

Tickets On Sale, Numbers Limited

WITH THE FIRST of our newspaper advertisements appearing this week, and ticket sales underway through the cellar door (and Phillip Island's strong word-of-mouth network), we'd advise to book early to avoid disappointment.

Ticket numbers will be limited to preserve the relaxed, friendly feel of MUSICFEST and to provide 'stretching room'.

There are two levels of tickets, a 'ONE DAY' ticket or a 'TWO DAY EVENT ticket':

  1. The $40 one-day ticket gives you entry on either Saturday OR Sunday.
  2. Ther $60 ticket gives you entry to MUSICFEST Phillip Island for BOTH Saturday and Sunday.

(You are welcome to bring a picnic hamper, rugs and folding chairs to make a day of it.)

Online ticket sales are now live - click on the link above to purchase.

When printing your tickets, ensure that you have a clean, legible print-out (tickets will be scanned on entry).

BOOK EARLY to avoid disappointment. MUSICFEST Phillip Island is a small 'fest for people who are really into their music.

It's laid-back, there is lots of stretching room (for the picnic) and ticket sales will be limited to ensure MUSICFEST retains its cruisy personal feel.

MUSICFEST 2013 has a not-to-be-missed line-up of eclectic, rootsy performers (and where else can you buy a day festival ticket with this kind of line-up for just $40?)
